Whitney Heier Psychotherapy

Healing through embodiment and self connection.

The work is not to change yourself but to change your moment to moment response to yourself. You learn to meet yourself exactly as you are, each and every part. Evidence of healing is through deepened embodiment and self devotion rather than performance, productivity, or outcomes.

About Whitney

I have been deeply passionate about personal growth work since I was a teenager. I struggled with coping strategies that were a manifestation of my deep self rejection and belief that I had to be something that wasn't true for me. As I began to develop a relationship with my body and intuition that was rooted in authenticity, and I learned how to work with myself rather than fight myself, my life began to change. First, in terms of my experience living as myself moment to moment, and then in what I created externally.

This process of void or dark night of the soul or depression is one I have traversed many times and I have even come to love and embrace. Supporting people through these journeys is one of my greatest strengths and passions.

What healed me was not force, but presence with what is. This is the way I work because it is the way I have learned how to live.

I am a licensed therapist with advanced training, but credentials are not what define my work. In a field that often leans on titles, techniques, and trendy language, I bring presence, attunement, and lived experience. I do not rely on a single modality or a formulaic approach. My work is intuitive, relational, and deeply embodied. I am my own modality.

I hold an MA in Counseling Psychology from Palo Alto University and am trained in Imago couples therapy, somatics, nervous system regulation, parts work, narcissistic abuse and codependent relationship dynamics, and eating disorder treatment.

My Approach

At the heart of my work is self-connection.

I support people in strengthening their relationship with their inner world and learning how to live in a way that feels authentic rather than imposed. This is not about forcing change or becoming someone new — it's about coming home to yourself.

Growth doesn't come from rejecting where you are. It comes from staying present with it.

In our work together we will move at the pace your nervous system can actually hold. Growth that cannot be grounded into real life does not last. I am deeply client-led and attuned to when something is ready to move and when it needs to be stayed with. This work is not flashy. It does not promise quick breakthroughs. It is quiet, slow, and rooted in the deepest layers of the self.

What makes this work different is not a method. It is the way presence, embodiment, and trust are woven together so change can unfold naturally and sustainably.
